The Polk City Development Corporation (PCDC) is a group of community leaders and business owners that have joined together to promote Polk City, provide support to existing businesses, and recruit new business to the city.

PCDC has incorporated as a non-profit corporation to better enable the organization to accomplish its goals.

The goal of PCDC is to grow Polk City in a manner that allows the community to retain its character.

John Calhoun, a 1971 graduate of Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, worked as a juvenile court officer in the 3rd judicial district for 27 years. He also served as the Director of the Siouxland Human Investment Partnership (SHIP) in Sioux City. John has served on many State and local boards and committees in addition to being a member of the Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary and Polk City Chamber of Commerce. Polk City Development Corporation has contracted with Johna’s company, Provident Consulting, to manage the Corporation.
